1772 Machin's Mills Halfpenny. Vlack 5-72A, W-7710. Rarity-6. GEORGIVS III, Group I. Fine-12 (PCGS).
105.2 grains. A pleasing example of this rare variety, glossy golden-olive-brown with good eye appeal for the grade. A smattering of fine marks are noted, little rim bruise at base of bust, another smaller one atop reverse, rim nick at 4 o'clock on reverse too. Reverse aligned to 11 o'clock, AN soft. Not perfect, but quite pleasing as it is. The Ringo coin was only a little sharper and the Vlack coin was roughly equivalent in terms of detail.
PCGS# 939. NGC ID: 2B3W.
