Undated (1861-1865) Indian Princess / OUR NAVY. Fuld-53/336 f. Rarity-8. Silver. Plain Edge. MS-62 (PCGS).

19 mm. Struck from an advanced reverse die state, there is considerable rust throughout the wreath, a sizeable break connects the N in NAVY to the left borer, and several of the minor design elements have been attenuated or effaced through lapping. The actual striking detail is sharp, which is also true of the obverse. Frosty and free of significant marks, both sides are richly toned in gently mottled iridescent steel-gray. The first silver impression from these dies that your cataloger (JLA) can recall handling in 25 years.
