Spared a life of circulation, this seemingly ordinary Colonial-era note from New Jersey features the signature of John Hart, one of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence. As a representative to the Second Continental Congress, Hart was one of the oldest singers of the Declaration and died shortly thereafter in 1779 from natural causes.
