GREAT BRITAIN. Crown, 1644. Exeter Mint. Charles I (1625-49). PCGS EF-40 Gold Shield.
S-3058; KM-334.1. 28.6 grams. Continuous date, rose mint mark. Produced at one of Charles' temporary mints during his unsuccessful struggle with Parliament during the Civil War. Bold centers for the grade, but struck on a slightly out-of-round planchet that truncates a small portion of the legend on both sides. Highly original deep gray toning solidifies this piece as premium quality for the type.
