GREAT BRITAIN. Kings of Wessex. Penny, ND (839). Canterbury Mint. Aethulwulf (839-58). PCGS EF-45 Gold Shield.

S-1047, North-610. Phase 2, new portrait, moneyer Daiheah. Obverse: diademed bust right, +EDELVVLF RE; reverse: cross crosslet in small circle, +DIAHA MON:T around. Nicely centered on a full flan with attractive detail in the center portrait and less visible wear than the grade suggests. A RARE issue that deserves close inspection.
