1723 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.56-Gc.44, W-13120. Rarity-8+. VF Details--Environmental Damage (PCGS).
109.8 grains. Struck from a new reverse die, unlisted in the 2007 Martin reference on Wood's Hibernia coinage - this is the discovery specimen. Bob Vlack opined that the reverse is Gc.15, but Syd pointed out that the spacing between the seated figure's head and the A in HIBERNIA is different, as is the spacing between that letter and the following stop.
PCGS# 921252. NGC ID: F7J4.
From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Earlier ex W.E. Johnson, January 19, 1959; Heritage's sale of the W. Philip Keller Collection of U.S. Colonials, October 2010 Stamford Coinfest Signature Auction, part of lot 3054.
