A group of attractive remainders from Austin, Nevada. Once a prominent silver mining town, Austin prospered during the American Civil War and the final half of the Nineteenth Century and was one of the few towns in Nevada to issue National Bank Notes, of which no examples are known to survive. As such, these remainders represent a tangible numismatic link to the history of Nevada and its prominence in silver mining during the Nineteenth Century.
