Obverse: Neptune on sea chariot drawn by two seahorses; Reverse: Radiant sun at sea with birds nest in foreground, scroll with 6-line inscription above. By far the finest example we can recall offering of this elegant medal that is so frequently found with heavy circulation and evidence of cleaning. By contrast, the present piece boasts wonderfully original surfaces that dance with vibrant multi-hued tones, the luster full and unimpaired throughout.
