INDIA. British East India Company. Silver Rupee Pattern, 1834. Calcutta Mint. William IV. NGC Proof. AU Details--Stained.
S&W-1.22; Prid-170. Plain edge. An EXTREMELY RARE pattern issue that was unadopted, with the king's name appearing in Latin rather than English, this specimen doesn't exactly present much in the way of the noted staining. Instead, the surfaces remain light argent gray in color and are quite uniform in appearance. Meanwhile, the level of wear upon the high points and breaks to any luster are at a minimum, making this a premium quality example for the overall grade and designation assigned.
