MEXICO. Recovery of Chamizal Gold Medal, 1963. Mexico City Mint. NGC MS-64.
Grove-824. Weight: 42.57 gms. Obverse: Portraits of Kennedy, Juarez and Lopez Mateos above clasped hands; Reverse: Crossed Mexican and United States flags. Struck to commemorate the previously negotiated 1911 resolution into a treaty which granted Mexico a total of 437 acres of disputed territory, this medal offers an appealing history and much charm. The surfaces glow with a rich satin complexion, and the details are clear and crisp.
