MEXICO. 8 Escudos, 1746-Mo MF. Mexico City Mint. Philip V. PCGS AU-58.
Fr-8; KM-148; Cal-2252. Offering highly impressive quality that verges upon a Mint State designation, this majestic survivor radiates with a tremendous degree of glistening brilliance and remaining luster. The color is a very vibrant shade of yellow, with some deeper russet tinges accentuating some of the devices. The portrait of the monarch, for whom this would represent the final year of his coinage, is quite bold and well executed, with just some minor adjustment marks--fairly typical aspects--being the only point to mention. Even then, these are most easily overlooked, allowing this elite example to soar.
