According to the Historia de los Billetes de Costa Rica 1858-2001 reference book, only 1500 total examples were issued across all emisions, and only 100 notes were issued on Oct. 1, 1885 for the emision. A near book end S/N for the date of 1199. The front shows Niagara Falls at the center, arms at the left, and Prospero Hernandez at the right. The back shows an intricate pattern with the denomination. This is a true rarity, being the only certified PMG example. A surefire hand shaking, jaw dropping rarity.
