PERU. 1/4 Real, 1796-LIMAE JI. Lima Mint. Charles IV. NGC AU Details--Corrosion.
EMO-482.2 (Plate coin); KM-102.1; Cal-106. Variety with downward-curving lion's tongue. This date from this three-year transitional type is the RAREST of Lima's milled Cuartillos. While corroded from saltwater damage, the coin retains clear visibility of the date, mintmark in monogram, and the transposed assayer's initials.
