PERU. Cob 1/4 Real, ND (ca. 1577-88)-★. Lima Mint. Philip II. NGC VF-35.
EMO-425 (Plate coin); KM-2; Cal-103. Assayer Diego de la Torre. Weight: 0.84 gms. Variety with "★" mintmark on reverse to right of lion. Darkly toned and crudely struck, this Cuartillo preserves a clear star mintmark on either side, along with other possible marks too muddled to identify. A problem-free and charming exemplar.
