LYDIA. Alayattes to Kroisos (ca. 620/10-550/39 B.C.). EL Trite (1/3 Stater) (4.61 gms), Sardes Mint. NGC VF, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 2/5. Brushed.
SNG Ashmolean-749-53. Obverse: Head of roaring lion right; sun with multiple rays on forehead; Reverse: Two incuse square punches. A few typical edge cracks are noted, as well as the light brushing, but this example otherwise remains rather charming and pleasing.
