A classic fractional rarity that has solid bronze surcharge on face and which is printed on fiber paper. Uncommon as a problem free nearly EF note. For whatever reason, the solid surcharge fiber paper Fessenden notes were printed on a much coarser and more brittle fiber paper. These are commonly seen in the Fine-Very Fine grade range with tears, paper chips, stains, etc. A high-grade example found in a comment-free holder is not an everyday occurrence. Today's example possesses eye appeal that extends well beyond the scope of its technical merits.
