Description

Superb Gem Unc 67PPQ 1899 $5 Silver Certificate

Fr. 281. 1899 $5 Silver Certificate. PCGS Banknote Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 PPQ.

This 1899 Five Dollar Chief note showcases a design that consistently impresses in high-end Gem grades, and this particular note is no exception. It possesses large margins, appealing centering, dark blue overprints, and bold ink, all of which contribute to its overall appeal. What makes this note even more remarkable is its status as the finest known for the Friedberg number at PCGS Banknote. On the face of the note, you will find the depiction of Chief Running Antelope, a member of the Hunkpapa tribe of Lakota Indians. Sadly, Chief Running Antelope passed away in 1896, just three years before the first Chief note was issued for the series. As a result, he never had the opportunity to see his likeness on United States paper money.

Estimate: $15000.00- $25000.00
