Fr. 248. 1896 $2 Silver Certificate. PCGS Currency Gem New 66 PPQ.

Offerings of this fabulous $2 Educational 1896 Silver Certificate design type are elusive in Gem grades and this bright note will certainly enhance any collection. The vignette of "Science Presenting Steam and Electricity to Commerce and Manufacture," designed by Edwin H. Blashfield and engraved by Charles Schlecht and G.F.C. Smillie is well detailed and pronounced. Superbly centered along with original paper both help to affirm the near-superb Gem grade assigned by PCGS Currency.
