Plate A. American Bank Note Co. Philadelphia. Issued Note. Center, two young girls flank a dog lying on top of a safe or strong box with a key at right representing Fidelity. This ABNCo product also has red panel and bi-color 2 counters noticed. The bank was chartered in 1832 and remained solvent until the Civil War when the bank was forced to exchange a large amount of assets for Tennessee war bonds. At the end of the war, the bonds became worthless and drove the bank into failure in 1865. PCGS Currency comments "Whitman Plate Note".
