1925-D Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle. MS-62 (PCGS).
Despite a sizable mintage of nearly three million, the 1925-D is a very challenging date, as are all the mint marked double eagles from 1924 onward. Relatively few were paid out domestically and those that do survive are generally from overseas holdings that were repatriated over the last sixty or so years. The one offered here is a lovely example for the grade with a bold lustrous brilliance that enhances a two-tone gold effect, giving this nearly Choice Mint State example an overall good look for an MS-62.
