1854-D Gold Dollar. Winter 6-H, the only known dies. AU Details--Filed Rims (PCGS).
Deeply patinated with a decided olive cast. Minor rim filing becomes obvious under low magnification. One of just 2,935 examples struck during the final year of Type I gold dollar coinage -- that mintage figure is far and away the lowest of any regular-issue Type I gold dollar of any date or mint combination. Worthy of a close examination and a strong bid.
