Description
1834 Capped Bust Quarter. B-1, FS-901. Rarity-1. O/F in OF. MS-64 (NGC).
Warm pewter-gray patina is dominant during in hand viewing, although when aided by direct lighting one is treated to striking iridescent undertones of blue, gold and reddish-apricot. Obviously well cared for over the years, lustrous frosty surfaces also offer bold detail throughout the design. A thoroughly appealing and conditionally scarce Choice Uncirculated example of this underrated early quarter type.
