1804 Draped Bust Half Cent. C-11. Rarity-3+. Plain 4, Stems to Wreath. AU-55 BN (NGC).
Dominant steely-copper patina on the obverse gives way to warmer rose-brown throughout much of the reverse. Good hard copper with no pitting or roughness, just scattered, mostly minor marks that include a faint obverse scuff at Liberty's eye. The strike is sharp for the die state with the only mentionable softness within the hair curls behind the ear. Manley Die State 2.0, "Rare," with gentle bulging of the reverse die affecting the ribbon and lower left portion of the wreath.
PCGS# 35170. NGC ID: 222F.
