Description

1795 Washington Liberty and Security Halfpenny. Musante GW-48, Baker-31B, W-11010. BIRMINGHAM Edge. Struck Through Obverse. AU-55 (PCGS).

Appreciably lustrous medium and autumn-brown surfaces, the latter dominant and representing nicely faded down mint color. Only microscopic marks and a minor carbon spot in the left obverse field are seen on this high quality and attractive piece. The Mint error is located inside the lower left obverse border, where a moderately thin, fairly uniform strike through slants down to the right from before the letter G in GEORGE.
