GUATEMALA. Guatemala - Peru. 8 Reales, ND (1841). PCGS EF-45; Countermark: AU Details.
KM-117. Type IV countermark: Sun over 3 volcanos on obverse and Sunface in star, bow and arrow on reverse, applied with hinged dies to an 1826 Peru (Lima) 8 Reales (KM-142.1). Sharply struck countermarks over a darkly toned host coin. The piece has seen some circulation, though this but serves to bring out a shine over the highest surfaces of the obverse.
