MEXICO. Group of Cob 8 Reales (11 Pieces), ca. 17th-18th Centuries. Average Grade: FINE Details.
This intriguing group consists of 11 Mexican 8 Reales from the time of Philip II to Philip V, 8 of them cut. All of these pieces exhibit defects such as chopmarks, test cuts, and environmental damage. Most of these coins lack a visible date due to being cut, but the dates which are legible include 1652, 1732, and 1733. Certainly worthy of further study, this group presents a tempting opportunity for cob specialists or anyone interested in these "pirate" treasure coins. Note: these coins are not eligible for certification due to the aforementioned defects. SOLD AS/IS NO RETURNS.
