GREAT BRITAIN. 5 Pounds, 1937. London Mint. George VI. PCGS PROOF-64 Deep Cameo.
S-4074; Fr-409; KM-861. A highly alluring example, this 5 Pound issue boasts tremendous cameo depth and the appearance of seldom rivaled originality, with tone, or "box frost", sitting around the obverse legends, suggesting this piece spent decades undisturbed in its case of issue. The surfaces also confirm this piece has seen little handling since its striking, with minimal hairlines or instances of contact. Altogether, a fine example of the type, with an appearance that sets it apart from most.
