Description

(t) CHINA. Qing Dynasty. Mint Error -- Double Reverse Mule -- Cash, ND (ca. 1644-61). Probably Board of Works Mint. Emperor Shi Zu. Graded "82" by Gong Bo Ping Ji Grading Company.
cf. Hartill-22.71 (for reverse type). Weight: 3.0 gms. This interesting issue displays rich mottled brassy patina with minor earthen deposits. The characters are bold and well-formed with relatively smooth surfaces. A wholesome example with a pleasing appearance. It is interesting to note that the style of the Manchu script appears to be similar to that of the Board of Works mint, but also resembles that of the later mintmark of Taiyuan, Shanxi.

Estimate: $400.00- $600.00
