INDIA. Rupee, 1862-(C). Calcutta Mint. Victoria. NGC MS-64.
KM-473.1; S&W-4.51; Prid-66. A stunning and original near-Gem, this crisply struck example presents miraculously well preserved fields and generous satin luster. Both sides demonstrate richer gunmetal gray color that tinges with champagne coloration at certain angles, possibly the result of prolonged storage in a cabinet or manila envelope. Seemingly earmarked for one of the finest Rupee sets currently being assembled.
