BHM-1670. By T. Halliday. Diameter: 32mm. Obverse: Three liberated slaves, two kneeling and one standing, all raising their arms to heaven; Reverse: 12 line inscription. An important historical medal commemorating the anniversary of abolition in the British Empire. Surfaces are bright and brilliant with some powdered silver patina in the centers of the fields. The scratch is minor, resting between the bottom two lines of the inscription and hardly a cause for concern. Seldom encountered in any grade, this is a remarkable find for the specialist.
