GERMANY. Brandenburg-Franconia. Taler, 1541. Schwabach Mint. George of Ansbach & Albrech the Younger of Bayreuth. PCGS Genuine--Damage, AU Details.
Dav-8967. Appealing and wholly original lilac gray patina reveals vivid pumpkin orange, golden amber, and Swiss topaz overtone that easily glistens under a lamp. Some light wear across the high points does little more than alter the shade of the patina while careful examination reveals no signs of hairlines, repairs, or a rub. The only damage to note are two small circular punches placed either side of one of the reverse shields, while a trio of light starches hardly bears mentioning. Pleasing overall and sure to interest many early Taler aficionados.
