PERU. 2 Reales, 1753/2-LM J. Lima Mint; Assayer Joseph Rodriguez de Carrasa. Ferdinand VI. NGC VF-30.
KM-53; Cal-268. This handsome piece exhibits dove gray patina in the fields, the reverse in slightly darker gunmetal gray tone. A few isolated peripheral areas are devoid of denticulation, but the strike is well centered and plenty of bold detail remains to confirm the validity of the Choice Very Fine grade from NGC. Pleasingly smooth in hand and attractively original, this is a lovely mid grade example of a historic Peruvian minor.
