CHILE. Peso, 1881-So. Santiago Mint. NGC MS-64+.
KM-142.1. An impeccably well produced and preserved Chilean Peso, this rather dramatic near-Gem boasts vivid autumnal tones of pumpkin orange and amber-russet while a thin band of cooler magenta and sapphire stretches around the rims. Brilliant fields on the obverse do an excellent job illuminating the color and providing subtle contrast to satin devices, while the reverse is awash with a rich satin glow throughout. Exceptional in every metric, this piece is sure to enter one of the most refined Chilean cabinets currently being built.
