1860 Fideli Certa Merces Medal. Musante GW-354, Baker-135C. White Metal. Specimen-62 (PCGS).
52.4 mm. Silver-tinged surfaces with intensely reflective fields and sharp devices accented by fine satin frost. Faint hairlines and a few moderate handling marks on the obverse are noted, as are a couple of trivial, well scattered pesting spots on both sides. The quality and eye appeal are superb nonetheless. In fact, this is one of the finest white metal impressions from these dies that we have ever handled. Most in our online archives are certainly inferior and finding attractive white metal medals of this period and size usually requires considerable patience and persistence. With an aggressive bid the astute specialist's search can end with this offering.
