JAMAICA. Jamaica - Peru. 1 Shilling 8 Pence (2 Reales - Quarter Dollar), ND (1758). George II. PCGS VF-35; Countermark: EF Details.
KM-4.5; Prid-6. Issued by local Act of 18 November 1758. Raised central floral "GR" bi-facial countermark within circular indent. Applied to both sides of a 1756-LIMA JM Peru pillar 2 Reales of Ferdinand VI (KM-53). A crisply applied countermark is seen on this circulated, though charming host Peruvian 2 Reales. The surfaces are deeply toned, giving the piece is an original antique look to it. As a problem free example of this ever popular Jamaican issue, we expect strong competition for this piece.
