Description

1702 American Treasure Captured at Vigo Bay Medal. Betts-96A. Silver, 43.1 mm. AU-53 (PCGS).
528.6 grains. Signed J. BOSKAM F. under the portrait for Jan Boskam. Deep antique gray with gold and navy blue highlights over reflective, lustrous surfaces. Nicely struck in high relief, with exquisite detail brought up by two bold strikes. Some hairlines are visible on the fields, to be expected on this issue. The intricate die work and bold portrait make this medal a favorite of collectors.
