1795 Talbot, Allum & Lee Cent. Fuld-1B, W-8650. Rarity-8+. Two Leaves on Edge. AU-55 BN (NGC).
142.0 grains. Bold edge decorated with band of twin olive leaves. Rich deep autumn-orange, glossy surfaces with gently mottled olive-brown patina. Struck from an advanced state of the obverse, with considerable rust around Liberty's head, reverse in a somewhat earlier state with the break above the first letter E in LEE just showing as four denticles joined together. We have not seen another example of this edge variant offered at auction and believe it is unique.
