Fr. 3001-G. 2013 $1 Federal Reserve Note. Chicago. PMG Choice Very Fine 35. Radar Serial Number.
For the period of the mid 1970s until the mid 2000s, the BEP had a standing order for press operators to remove the serial #00000002 and serial #20000002 for quality control purposes. Thus collectors seeking to construct a complete set of serial #01111110, 02222220, 03333330, 04444440…….98888889 super radar serial numbers were stopped when trying to locate serial #20000002. Somewhere around 2010 the BEP stopped the pulling of serial #00000002 and #20000002, making these note once again available to collectors. The major problem with that is that 99.9% of banks have controls on their employees prohibiting them from pulling out fancy serial number for their own use. So this specific serial number remains incredibly elusive today. Dealers advise us that when they could locate this serial number 20000002, it always commanded a four figure price in the past. IMPORTANT: This note is needed to complete a set of notes in the Issie Chaimovitch Collection being offered today.
