Dav-3813; KM-298.20; Gad-217. A rather exceptional Ecu, this wonderful example delivers tremendous charm and appeal that far outstrips the norm for this type. The strike is strong, and signs of actual handling are limited, with a steely gray and handsome luster preserved. Clearly overstruck on an earlier Ecu, this example shows much charm and appeal, being dually dated as both 1686 and 1694. A wonderful piece for any specialist in French coinage.
