Lot of (3) Fr. 1974-L. 1977 $5 Federal Reserve Notes. San Francisco. Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. Double Print Error.
This additional face printing error is one of the most dramatic we have handled. Seen with two different face plate numbers of D447 and D385 indicating a multi-plate cylinder was used during production. With the doubling the note appears out of focus to the human eye which creates a bit of a strain if directly observed for too lengthy a time as the design is one so well etched in our memories. One of the most coveted error types and certainly not offered nearly enough to satisfy collector demand. Also included are the bookend notes which are seen in normal fashion.
