Description

CC-100. Continental Currency. January 14, 1779. $65. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
No. 51380. Signed by L. Sprogell and J. Lawrence. Printed by Hall and Sellers, 1779. A deep red circular shape overlays the scales of justice in the emblem on front of this unusual $65 denomination found only on the last 1779 issue. PMG's highest-graded example by two grades, it is a most impressive looking note with vibrant color and printing, good margins, very sharp and neat signatures (particularly John Lawrence's at bottom) and lovely original paper. PMG Pop 1/None Finer.
From the Mid-Continent Collection.

Estimate: $6000.00- $8000.00
