Description

VENEZUELA. Lot of (6). Banco Industrial de Venezuela. 10, 20 & 100 Bolivares, ND. P-Unlisted. Front & Back Essays.
Printed by TDLR. 3 Booklets Each with a Front and Back essay mounted within thick leather binding. The front of the books read "BANCO INDUSTRIAL DE VENEZUELA" with Diez, Veinte, or Cien Bolivares for each respective denomination. The notes themselves are an absolute work of art, showcasing the talents of TDLR. The 10 Bolivares in Orange, and the 20 Bolivares in green. Both denominations showing a city scene containing a train, plane, palm trees, buildings and mountains on the front. The Brown 100 Bolivares has a vignette of Oil Derricks at center. All three notes show with seated allegorical figures on each side. Some toning on the pieces due to age, and given the pieces are put together by hand there are minor areas with tiny details off-center or missing. We know so little about the paper money printing of this bank, as it is completely unreferenced in both the SCWPM and the Rosenman reference book. In 1937, the BIV was founded with a funding structure consisting of 60% state investment and 40% private capital. On February 4, 1938, the BIV commenced its operations, providing a range of financial products and services. It served as the regulatory authority for the financial sector and played a significant role in developing and financing the industrial sector, particularly in the provision of loans for personal and corporate banking. However, in an effort to restructure and optimize the performance of the public banking sector, the government announced the discontinuation of operations and financial intermediation activities of Banco Industrial de Venezuela.

Estimate: $20000.00- $25000.00
