NICARAGUA. Banco Nacional de Nicaragua. 1 Cordoba, 1912 (ND 1914). P-55a. PMG Very Fine 25.
Printed by HBNC. Without serial number prefix. Red serial number. One of four examples graded by PMG for this variety. PMG comments "Minor Rust". PMG Pop 1/None Finer. The Monetary Conversion of March 20, 1912, created the Cordoba as the new monetary unit of Nicaragua, in replacement of the old peso. That Monetary Conversion considered the creation of a national bank: National Bank of Nicaragua, Inc. or Banco Nacional de Nicaragua Incorporado. Engraver was Hamilton Bank Note, Engraving & Printing Co. of New York. Bank notes started circulation in March 1913.
