Watermark of pattern. The 1000 Leke was the highest denomination for the 1947 series. Depicted at right is a solider holding what appears to be a Mauser pattern of rifle. A large star is found on the hat of the soldier, symbolizing the newly (at the time) formed People's Republic of Albania. PMG Pop 5/2 Finer.
