Description

(t) CHINA. Shaanxi Caoding. Provincial Trough Ingots. Silver 5 Tael Local Tax ingot, ND. Graded "MS 62" by GBCA Grading Company.
cf. BMC-Class XLII Group G # 512. Weight: 183.8 gms. "San Yuan Shu Lu" (Sanyuan County, name: Zhu Lu), added stamp "Gong Gu Ju" (Bureau of Assessment). This nicely preserved little ingot boasts a strong initial stamp with bold characters, while the added stamp is somewhat muddled with a slightly obscured inscription. The surfaces display a pleasing mottled slate gray and argent patina with plenty of remaining luster in the protected areas and minor earthen deposits. This type is seldom encountered with additional added stamps and should be considered SCARCE. Wholly original looking with interesting characteristics, this handsome example is sure to catch the attention of advanced collectors from this series.
