Description

Kirtland, Ohio. Kirtland Safety Society Bank. 1837. $20. PMG Very Fine 30 Net. Edge Damage.
Plate A. Serial No. 110. This $20 note from the Kirtland Safety Society Bank bears the scars of a fire, but remains essentially intact, with most all of the design remaining visible. The vignette of a seated allegorical figure of Agriculture flanked by the Arts and History appears at center, and is flanked by twin engravings of a man standing by a tree, with his wife seated at his side. The note is signed by LDS Founder Joseph Smith Jr. as Cashier and Sidney Rigdon as President. The $20 denomination is scarcer and of higher value than the $5 and $10 notes. PMG notes "Edge Damage" on the back of the holder.

Estimate: $800.00- $1200.00
