Fulda, Minnesota. $20 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 660. The First NB. Charter #6054. PMG Very Fine 20.
An extraordinarily rare bank, the FNB of Fulda Minnesota was the sole charter to operate in this southern Minnesota farming community that was named after Fulda, Germany. It is represented by only five large size notes on the entire census: two $10s and three $20s - this being the fourth $20 discovered. It is easily the finest 1902 Plain Back $20, eclipsing the PMG Fine 12 Net that was previously unique for the type. Reasonably well-centered with four full margins, the note has seen circulation consistent with the grade, but is free from any problems or issues. The Fine 12 Net mentioned earlier is considerably rougher than this note, with Edge Damage and Rust noted by PMG, and it realized $4,465 in an April 2015 auction. An extremely rare opportunity for the collector of Minnesota Nationals.
