Description

CC-56. Continental Currency. February 26, 1777. $3. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
No. 9458. Signed by S.S. Coale and R. Johnson. Printed in Philadelphia by Hall and Sellers, 1777. Fighting eagle and heron emblem at center right - "EXITUS IN DUBIO EST" (The outcome is in doubt). What is not in doubt is the full Gem status of this outstanding note. Not only are the margins broad and nicely-balanced, but the printing resolution (on the emblem in particular) borders on perfection as well. Oddly, PMG has graded only two Uncirculated CC-56 notes, and both are 65 EPQ's. Absolutely stunning eye appeal. PMG Pop 2/None Finer.
From the Mid-Continent Collection.

Estimate: $1750.00- $2250.00
