Description

1804 Draped Bust Cent. S-266, the only known dies. Rarity-2. AG-3 (PCGS).
This piece shows above average definition for the assigned grade, the AG designation from PCGS undoubtedly a net grade to account for several scratches on the reverse that slant down to the right through the center. Obverse marks over and around Liberty's portrait are also noted. Original olive-copper and autumn-brown patina enhances the appearance. Some of the peripheral lettering has been obscured by wear, but the date is full and the central design elements well outlined and appreciable. All in all, a respectable, if well worn survivor of this eagerly sought key date issue in the Draped Bust cent series.
PCGS# 1504. NGC ID: 224H.

Estimate: $1200
