Description

1850 Liberty Head Eagle. Small Date. AU-50 (PCGS). CAC.
This pretty example displays pale rose highlights on dominant honey-olive color. Well defined overall with traces of original frosty luster. The Small Date is by far the scarcer logotype of the 1850 eagle (combined mintage: 291,451 circulation strikes), although this fact is not widely recognized. Very well preserved and attractive, our offering of this AU-50 is a significant bidding opportunity for the astute gold enthusiast. The date logotype used for this variety was intended for large cents and half eagles.
PCGS# 8604. NGC ID: 2638.
CAC Population: 13 in all AU grades; 1 in all Mint State grades.
From the Fairmont Collection - CAG Set.

Estimate: $1250
